Molly McMahon is originally from Ypsilanti, MI and has had a passion for the theatre since she was a child. Acting since the age of eight, she fell in love with the art form and never looked back. After performing in many plays at her high school and around the Ann Arbor area, she auditioned for and received a Talent Scholarship to attend Wayne State University's Theatre program. During the summer between her sophomore and junior years, she travelled to Moscow, Russia to take classes at the world-renowned Moscow Art Theatre School. Upon her return to Detroit, she completed her BFA in Theatre, graduating in 2005. She immediately began working professionally as an actor. Within the next three years, she began working as a professional director and puppeteer. Today, she continues to work for Detroit-area production companies and theatres in creative and administrative capacities. She is also the current Artistic Director of BoxFest Detroit, a festival that showcases and creates opportunities for women directors.
